The PHAST and PHURIOUS: Health Survey Data Research Poster

My Role:

Lead Graphic Designer and Production Coordinator

Objectives:

  1. Create a poster for the Public Health Assessment and Surveillance Team (PHAST) for The Ontario Public Health Conference (TOPHC)

  2. Visually layout the development and transformation of the internal reporting process on health survey data within Public Health Sudbury & Districts (formerly Sudbury & Districts Health Unit)

  3. Lean away from the traditional “academic research poster” approach, to garner more attention from attendees

Outcomes:

  1. Garnered an unusual amount of attention from TOPHC attendees while showcasing at the conference

  2. Encouraged more buy-in from Senior Management and Public Health Units across the province for “unconventional” research poster approaches, allowing for more creative explorations on future posters

  3. Received a number of kudos and compliments from a variety of Health Units across Ontario.
